Hey folks,
I am taking Nardil 90mg now for about 2 month. While my social anxiety plus dysthimia seems nearly cured on some days, I feel depressed and rejectionsensiyive on othrr days again... esp. when being away from family and some old friends at home (which I am most of the time).
Should I go even higher to make this partial response more complete and reliable? I still hope to have as dramatic effects on my life by Nardil as other people in the forums have...
Best,
reflecting

How long have you been on Nardi in total? Sexual side effects may subside after several months. 90 is a high but good dose. My unprofessional advice is to wait two more months for your body to continue to adjust. i have been taking Nardil 67.5mg since 2008. You could try augmenting Nardil with Lithium or Cytomel also, btw. Increasing the Nardil may create more sexual side effects.

I guess I startedmid of October with 45mg and then rapidly increased. Since begin of November I am on 90mg.
I know that people tell that sexual side effects vanish over time... still I do not see any change... moreover, Amantadine might help weight and fatigue as well.
Though the 90mg are already quite helpful I want to see whether even more is possible (maybe I am a bit greedy...) - in case there is no clear change I will go down again... anyhow, this is my first day on 105mg, let's see how it goes on.In the next days I will ask my doc for Amantadine for the sexual stuff and for some Valium for possible hypertensive crises.

Maybe your residual depression and rejection sensitivity / anxiety are not biogenic, but, rather, psychogenic. Extra Nardil will not help with this.
I would say that the maximum dosage of Nardil is 1 mg/kg body weight. 90 mg is probably a good dosage for you. I agree with Atypical in that you should wait longer before coming to any conclusions. Some people don't respond to Nardil for 3 months. It might be worth the wait. Response patterns are not always linear. It can have peaks and valleys, even though the trend is towards improvement.
I like using low-dosage lithium (300-600 mg/day) to help stabilize an antidepressant response if it remains variable. I have seen it work with MAOIs.
