I can't take another SSRI ever

Posted by linkadge on January 14, 2012, at 14:46:57

I've come to the conclusion that I'm never going to ingest another SSRI tablet of any form. I just switched from cipralex to fluoxetine and I just feel worse than taking no SSRI. It doesn't matter which one, they all just make me feel worse.

lots of people can't take sri drugs, or most reuptake inhibitors. I mean, that doesn't make your situation suck less, but at least you're not some lone freak of nature or something.

What are you treating? What do you think are good options now that the ssri drugs are out of the question?

I dont intend to take another ssri either.Klonopin is working for depression, gad, and panic. What are your plans? I also think exercise is a huge investment in good mental health, but its hard to be active once youve hit bottom.

phillipa,I too always think,I want to be my old self, the one before the major crazy breakdown.I want to only use exercise and nutrition to treat my anxiety. And I know that every night when I take the pill,Im reinforcing in my brain, that my must take it,or what?I know the klonopin has helped alot, but why do I feel so uneasy about it?

Yeah, I came to that same conclusion a couple years ago.

Hey Link you've probably tried rhodiola before? Well, if not, give it a good look. If you have, do it again. If it's a retrial, different brand and different dosing strategy. If you tried it and had weird problems or it didn't work or it made things crazy, the dose was wrong and/or it might not have been a good brand. I had 4 failures on this one before accidentally finding the right brand and dose which made a world of difference.

Gadchik, I thought zoloft was part of what pulled you out once, then you were able to leave it behind. Am I understanding that correctly?

beckett, yes, zoloft & remeron were added to klonopin. However, they caused weight gain, and rls.I also wonder if I had just used klonopin, would that have worked alone?I dont know.I did love zoloft for a while. But its a double edged sword.I looked so bloated.I still use remeron, just a tiny dose for better sleep, but only occasionally.I feel better now w/o zoloft.

50mg of fluvoxamine isnt subtheraputic. Your lexapro dose is, but your fluvoxamine dose is one standard doseage unit, about equal to 20mg paxil, 20mg prozac, 50mg zoloft, 75mg effecor etc.

If 50mg of generic luvox is a theraputic dose. Why did the pdocs give me 50mg first dose, raise to l00mg next day, then l50mg next day, and then to a maximum of 250mg? Felt literally nothing. No side effects waited for them they just didn't come? It was later that higher doses were not tolerated way later. Phillipa

Is cipralex lexapro or crowds?? Cant remember at the moment. What dose did you try ? Was it low?

How long have you been on Prozac?

Ssaid simply not be for you. How about depakote and/or lithium?

How about naltrexone?

Are you doing everything you can? Pdiet, exercise, therapy, and social interaction?

If there is a PTSD component to your condition, prazosin might help with sleep disturbances. It might even help with depression in a way similar to the way it is helping me. If you were subject to abuse or neglect in your life, prazosin makes sense to consider.

Have you tried Abilify?

A medication will hopefully help with PTSD, and im all for it, but the only way to overcome PTSD in the long run is he combination of psychodynamic therapy and cbt.
