Hi.
I live in South America and I´m on Nardil during 30 years due to Atypical Depression. Excellent response, no adverse effects, 45 mg/day. No response with triciclics and SSRI.
At reviewing this electronic page it seems to me Nardil is being used more frequently in the US, but I have problems in to import the medication.
My question is if you have any information about the possibility that the drug will be discontinued off the market, also I would like to know your oppinion about the future of the drug in the US.
Thanks.

Hi IX, and welcome to Psycho-Babble. I'm a former Nardillian myself, having responded better to Nardil for my chronic anergic depression than any other medication that I've tried. I was concerned about the possibility of Nardil being withdrawn from the U.S. market back in 2006 when information about the medication was removed from the Physicians Desk Reference. However, six years have passed since then, and up until this point in time, I haven't seen any signs that Nardil might be taken off of the market. If anything, I'm less concerned about Nardil being taken off of the market than in the past, in part due to the fact that a generic version of the drug became available a little more than a year ago. Of course, it's hard to know what the pharmaceutical executives might have in mind when it comes to Nardil's future, but as far as I can tell, the medication doesn't seem to be endangered.
