This is my first posting, so please bear with mew, I was on Nardil 90mg a few years ago, it took me around 1-2 months for it to start having an effect once it started working it treated all my anxiety&depression issues, I felt confident, outgoing, I felt a little euphoric it was amazing but after a month of feeling this way it pooped out, and I went off it, I tried parnate after that, but it didn't do anything foe me has anyone ever gone through this?

Joseph2578,
I had to go up to 120-150mg per day to get Parnate working well, I did this based on Jay Amsterdam's study (Psycho-Babble Medication Thread 46965).

How would you describe the differences in how you feel between taking Parnate 80 mg versus 120 mg?

Thanks, But parnate had no effect on me whatsoever, when i was om 90 mg on nardil i felt amazing after a few weeks and than it popped out and i felt so horrible and sick, i slept 14hrs every day after going off nardil&even than my wife had to bring me coffee to get up and it was so bad that she dressed me, but when i went went on parnate at he top dosage recommended I felt nothing, and when I went off parnate I felt no different so that's how i know that Nardil was working so well as it made me so felt confident when i was on it &when i went off it I felt like s*it, so I would love to figure out if their is
a way to make nardil work again for me or to have other medications work for me like nardil did, so any advice from anyone would be greatly appreciate it.

Hey Scott,
I found Parnate started to feel very different somewhere between 80 and 120 mg I found the best sustained results at about 150mg. It is sort of like an amphetamine without the jitters or the come down. I had never experienced mania before so when I first started to feel better on Parnate I ended up feeling way "too good", I don't suppose I need to tell a vet. like you this but watch out for this possible switch to mania if you go this route!

Hello,
I see that their have now been past posts of taking 120mg for Parnate to help poop outs for parnate and for beneficial effects of Parnate at 120 mg without any dangerous side effects, so I was wondering if anyone knows if you can go up higher than 90mg of the recommend dosage of Nardi, since Parnate had no positive effects on me on the highest recommended dosage but I did have positive effects on highest recommended dosage when I was on the 90mg of Nardil , so I am thinking that if I can go higher on either one,I should chose Nardil since it worked for me? Any help, advice or insight from nay member's would be greatly appreciated

Thanks, Eric. I appreciate your input. I once took 150 mg of Parnate and found that it did indeed feel different than lower dosages. I took it in combination with desipramine and amphetamine. I eventually discontinued high-dose treatment because I was receiving diminishing returns and it prevented me from exploring other drugs. Thanks again.

Some people go as high as 120 mg of Nardil. I would deem that to be the maximum dosage to try safely.I received some additional benefit from adding nortriptyline to Nardil 90 mg.
Good luck.
