I dropped lamictal a while ago. I'm going to guess 2-3 weeks. I feel a bit more melancholy, but I'm not "depressed" or anything. I kind of like this feeling...I feel more "awake," somehow.
Anyway, I told my counselor. That little tidbit of info was the topic of discussion for the bulk of our session (I don't have a whole lot going on in my life right now, anyway). I saw my doc at the checkout/payment/appointment counter and told her. Surprisingly, she knew what meds I was on--without having her notes in front of her (!). I stammered at first when talking to her, because I realized it was kind of ridiculous to just expect her to know my medication combo right off the bat. She did know it, I told her that I had been feeling agitated and had dropped the Lamictal, and she said just stick with the Abilify. No drama, no fuss.
I am up to 30 on the Abilify. I am *so* scared of tardive everything (dysphrenia, dementia, akathisia, dyskinesia...), but 30 works so well. Its not so much that I feel calmed down, although that's certainly part of it. Its more like at 30 my thoughts seem clearer and I don't freak out as much. I'm taking plenty of antioxidants to try to prevent the development of tardive syndromes, so hopefully that'll work.

Hmm, good thing you didnt get rebound seizures. Even though epilepsy treatment is usually like 400mg + I think.
Also I think AAPs lower seizure threshold as well.
Glad you didnt have any issues with it.
Also good your doc didnt freak out. Thats a good sign theyre not a control freak. it is -you- taking the meds, after all. not them.
This is the end of the thread.
