I am switching from 100MG non time release effexor to Viibryd. The Doctor didn't give me instructions, maybe because I am on a relatively low dose. Anyways, what how would you suggest I do this? Has anyone switched from effexor to viibryd or another drug? I am a little scared because of all the ffexor horror stories I have heard and when I miss a dose I can get agitated pretty bad.

Your doctor should have given you some guidance on this. When I started Viibryd I was given a starter pack. The pack included 10 mg. for 7 days, 20 mg. for the next 7 days, and then 40 mg. for the next two weeks. I think this schedule helps minimize any side effects. You could follow this schedule but I'm not sure what dosage you were prescribed.

Good idea clarify instructions. But did he/she say stop effexor and start on the viibryn? Phillipa

Viibryd should come in a titration package. If not, just go down 50 mg a week on the Effexor.
