Hello, I have been on Prozac 20 mg for about a year for low grade anxiety and irribility. It has really worked well for me unsubtle ways. Allowing me to feel a general sense of well being and most side effects went away in time.
Lately though, it is not helping me during the week before my period. I have disturbed sleep, irritability and anxiousness. Could raising my dose during just this week offer any help? Anyone have experience with raising doses for just part of the month?
Thank you for your input.

Usually raising the dose of an antidepressant just before that time of month doesn't prove to be all that effective. Raising the dose overall may prove to be more helpful.

I disagree with this as prozac is given to females for premenstral symptoms for I think 5 days of the month so I think it would help. Run it by your ob-gyn. I think its called a different name for pms? Same med though. Phillipa
