Dilaudid to the rescue.

Posted by Phidippus on December 7, 2011, at 16:10:44

So, I've been in a funk for the past two weeks. Incessantly worried, depressed, fighting suicidal ideations.

I had also stopped Lyrica, 600 mg, which I don't think my brain appreciated.

Anyway, I decided to take 6 mgs of Dilaudid to see if it would help. Sure enough, within an hour, my worry dissipated, suicidal ideations abbated and I was no longer depressed. In short I felt great.

Should I be using Dilaudid as regular treatment for OCD/Depression?

Eric

On the one hand, I'd like to say do what you need to in order to get better and function. On the other hand, I don't know how tolerance to opiates works in psychiatric disorders, so I don't know if this is such a good idea. Its your call in the end. Personally, I'd keep it to occasional use for when you really need a break from your brain.

Sounds like it did wonders. Just be careful and monitor yourself for signs of mood changes and/or tolerance. Dilaudid is some powerful stuff.

Eric where did you get dilaudid? That's a powerful pain med. Opiods also make me feel high and really good but tolerance builds quickly. Phillipa

Oh, it's wonderful, though I don't think it would do very well for long term treatment.

My personal opinion is that it is as good as anything else is likely to be.

The whole thing is a problem.

I took 4 mgs of Dilaudid this morning and my head feels so clear.

My strategy for this medication is not daily use, but as a rescue medication for when my brain is overheated.

I've tried many medications for my OCD and by far Dilaudid cuts through the worry like no other. I wish there was something as powerful but without all the risks.

I get dilaudid from my Neurologist to treat my atypical trigimenal neuralgia.

Docs here don't even give pain meds? Why if they work? Phillipa

Because they're a pain in the *ss to manage. Tolerence builds up and you need more and more to get the same effect. There is one opiate docs are more likely to prescribe for psychiatric problems and that's Methadone.

I was taught in school that methadone does more harm to the body organs than heroine itself? Don't know if true or not? Phillipa
