I see my dr tomorrow and not sure what to do. The 600 mgs of tegretol is making me very anxious. I asked to lower it so my pdoc ordered a blood draw. I am thinking of asking for paxil. That helps with anxiety and depression. I always found it hard to get on and off so I dont know if I can take the extra anxiety but I need to do something. Paxil worked for me for about 10 years and then I went manic on it. Any thoughts?

Markwell are you bipolar or react to antidepressants with mania? I'm sorry forgot your diagnosis. I'm sure trileptal was also a thought. Seems until I read of a med side effect I get none? Strange but the mind is strong. Phillipa

I've been diagnosed with bp1. I don't hear the doctor talk about tilepitral. Since Paxil worked once for me what are the chances of it doing it again?

Markwell hard to say it might and might not. I know this isn't what you wanted to hear. But chemistry changes for some. Phillipa ps how long ago were you on paxil?

Two years ago. I wonder if dropping the tegretol alone will help? The problem with Paxil is it takes 6 weeks to find out if it works and by that time there will be withdrawal issues. I don't know what to do but I want to do something as I'm a wreck.

What's it all about, Markwell? Is it just for the moment you live? And is it any use to sit and wonder why, Mark, if you don't know by now? And how many times can a man turn his head and pretend that he just doesn't see? The answer, my friend, is knowing of the wind.
You see, you write of demons, which have been revealed to me to be like the wind. And thgere is a greater wind than those. This wind could lift you above the world so that you could soar like an eagle and meet the Sun of Righteousness that has healing in His wings.
Now you say you are a wreck.

The trick with taking an antidepressant to treat anxiety while you are bipolar is, of course, keeping from becoming manic.
I found a relatively simple solution for this problem: ad an AAP to control mania. Curreently I take 1200mg of Lithium, 80 mg of Latuda and two antidepressants to control my OCD: Clomipramine and Viibryd. You should try Tegretol + Paxil + AAP.

Eric, I never heard of latuda. My pdoc is very respected in his field but he doesn't do a lot of mixing. I probably need a cocktail of some kind but how do I find it? I'm only taking nac with the tegretol. What's the difference between say seroquel and latuda? I had a bad experience with geodon and seroquel was way too sedating.
