Meh. I am fine on 60mg Nardil, but have noticed that going to the gym and doing cardio until I am pretty sure I am gonna pass out has done one thing: prevent me from gaining more weight.
I have thus far lost *nothing*.
Since the taper from 90mg to 60mg was painless, and I am working part-time now (and looking to fill in the rest), I may down to 45 in a few days and hold for a week or two.
It may be possible for me to stay off ADs if I am able to reconstruct a normal life. It may not be. We'll see.
This Nardil fat thing sucks *so* much.

Metformin avaliable cheaply and easily here
https://www.alldaychemist.com/search.php?search_query=metformin
Might also be worth adding some chromium picolinate to your regimen - its cheap and cant hurt
Dont cut your nardil back too far right now, going back to work is a big stresser, you're gonna need the support nardil gives...... put up with some flab for 6 months if you have to, and deal with it when things have settled down.

Sage advice.

>plus, it's very difficult with Nardil to say exactly when the effects of reducing dose will hit. It's not as simple as saying "well, the MAO levels will have re-adjusted after 2 weeks". I personally experienced Nardil's side-effects continually change for about the first 9 months I was on it.
I moved from 90mg to 45mg recently however my health is not stable enough to provide any potentially useful observations. Some days I'm very depressed, lethargic and ill and some I'm relatively OK.

I used Nardil for years and gained 50% of my body weight. I'm now using Marplan and it seems like an adequate substitute--although I'm also on clonazepam which I was not on while taking Nardil so I can't be sure.
No carb cravings at all with this yet. Unless you've tried it before, you might want to look into switching now that it's back on the market.
