Hello,
Zyprexa helps with my bipolar 2 disorder... however, I sleep 12 hours and am tired all day...
Is there anything that will counteract this?

I have the same problem with 17.5 mg of Zyprexa daily.

Usualy they prescribe wellbutrin for this. Thats what I take with zyprexa. Unfortunatly it does not make getting out of bed any easyer. Just makes you less tired during the day. I take the SR version, generic, all in the morning. So maybe if you take it in the evening also waking would be easyer, just have a harder time getting to sleep.
Currently I'm down to 5mg zyprexa, from 15mg. But I'm also taking perphenazine. Which only makes you tired durring the day and not in the morning. But my doc has lowered the bupropion sr (wellbutrin) from 400mg to 100mg. It was making me anxious at the higher dose which the zyprexa was countering. So she is taking me off both it seems.

Could you try changing to one of the less sedating antipsychotics..... Risperdal or Geodon?

I've tried them all and zyprexa is the only one that works...
I'm trying alertect (provigil) and ritalin.. they help with energy but im still looking for something better...

Have you tried Saphris? How does it compare to zyprexa?
I am considering trying Saphris, but am worried about the sedation and other potential side effects.
