I have depression / anxiety and ADHD. I've been on effexor for 9-10 years (maybe longer, I forget). Am on 300mg/day currently. Also on 80mg/day Adderall. Earlier this year I finally acknowledged it wasn't working as well as in the past and went to my pdoc. He had me add Abilify (worked for about 2 months), then seroquil (very sedating and stopped) and now am on 40 mg/2x day of Geodon. It seemed to help at first but now I'm back where I started~ apathetic, lethargic, felling very "flat" emotionally with occasional side trips to utter sadness and feeling completely defeated.
Any thoughts or advise would be greatly appreciated.

The Geodon isn't going to help you much if the Effexor has pooped out. I would recommend you start a new antidepressant - there are plenty to choose from. Talk to your pdoc about moving to another antidepressant.

What about adding wellbutrin to effexor? Lots have done this. What other ad's have you been on before? 10 years is pretty good for an ad to work. Phillipa

I tried welbutrin previous to effexor without much relief.
I'd rather try adding another med to the effexor than muscle through the withdrawal, but am asking the doc about switching altogether.
Thanks for your input guys~
