Lyrica is trying to help me

Posted by Tepi on October 9, 2011, at 20:05:42

I say again, these drugs have something special
I started Lyrica about 3 weeks ago . 150mg daily
and I feel a different person
It has taken away many intrusive and destructive thougthS. The thought that Im a sick person have diminish a lot .I dont wanna say more things , maybe its too early but at this moment is like if lyrica was telling me that it wanna be part of an important cocktail for me .
Im afraid of the things I have read , like it is addictive , that it has very bad side effects
I would love to try a higher dose . I dont know if I should

150mg twice a day isnt excessive, you could quite safely go up to that dose, and lyrica has an extremely low potential for dependence or serious side effects.

If its working for you, stick with it.

But as Phillipa says, you have nothing to lose by staying at your current dose for another few weeks and seeing what happens

Try to focus on the positive at this point.

It's working for you and your have just begun. Good for you!

I agree with everyone in this thread - stay on your current dose for now and don't mix in anything else. Only after like 6-8 weeks could you consider going up on the Lyrica dose or introducing something else. I don't know much about Lyrica so ask your doc how long would a good trial be.

I'm really glad you're feeling better tepi. I hope it continues.

150 mg is a very low dose indeed. Are you taking 2 separate doses of 75 mg? Its best dosed twice daily. If you've had a positive reaction so far, I would say go to 300 mg and stop-2 150 mg doses per day, one in the morning and one at night.
