It's rather sad but Tuesday used to be the biggest posting day on babble and looked forward to hearing how others were doing and connecting with others now it's basically empty. So does this mean gone elsewhere or everyone is doing really well? Just miss you guys. Love Phillipa

Hi Phillipa- I've been doing really well lately, adding the Deplin seems to be making a difference for me. I wish I didn't have to take so many meds but this is what works for me right now. I see pdoc in a couple weeks am going to talk about getting off the daily Klonopin and switching to Ativan to take maybe once or twice a week.
Are you still trying the Lexapro? herpills

Best of luck with the switch Phillipa.
What anti depresanta do you take each day?
I've been seeing a psychologist, but its a waste of time and money, not seeing any benifit, its just a load of feel good rubbish.
I live in a small remote city where psychiatrists are few and far between, you basicly need to be psychotic to see one, so I have decided I will fly back to Adelaide and see my psychiatrist there. He is a lot more relaxed about the Xanax than my GP here (the GP keeps telling me I need to quit it, even though I feel its the one thing that has brought me back from the brink of madness/suicide, and allowed me to get back to work and rebuild my life.) The psych feels that if its usefull and the dose isnt creeping up, I can take it for as long as need it. Of course I'd like to stop, but right now, I dont think I can (or should)

I remember when you were deciding around the time of your relocation. I'm glad you have a supportive pdoc somewhere. My current pdoc seems like minded about Xanax. He said to me that since I am already on it, and my dose isn't high, he does not see a
problem. My last doctors tried to force me off. However, my current doc supports my efforts to taper down, too.Hope the job is going well.

Herpills, wow, so deplin is working for you? That's great. It didn't seem to make any difference for me. Very good news!
Phillipa, have you tried it yet?

Since I came to Darwin I've been getting my meds from a GP, and every time I go in for a repeat, I can feel the censure in his voice when he asks if I can cut the Xanax down, and I realy dont need that - I dont need to pay fifty bucks to be softly insulted.
My pdoc in Adelaide used to give me a months supply with 5 refils of my antidepressants and my xanax - 2 plane flights a year is easily doable until I find a psych up here who is taking new, non psychotic patients

FB took it for a while two scripts worth at 7.5mg didn't notice a thing. Herpills are you deficient in the gene that converts? Also now they say 15mg of Deplin is the best dose per the drug company rep that visited to speak about Deplin. Google here Susan Whelan that's her. Phillipa

I was actualy feeling pretty rough this last 2 weeks, upped my Xanax from 2mg per day to 3mg, and was still terribly anxious, almost phobic.
I started thinking about suicide again, not because I was depressed, but because I thought I couldnt take another 40 years of feeling like this every day.
Seriously, if someone said to me that ECT or even a prefrontal leucotomy would make me stop feeling this way, I'd probably submit to it.

Jono, I'm so sorry. That doesn't sound good to me. Do you deal with bipolar? I'm sorry I have forgotten.

GAD, panic disorder and MDD
The depression is pretty well controlled on sertraline and reboxetine, the anxiety has its moments despite Xanax.
I wasnt depressed in a melancholic sense, I was just very anxious, and I kept thinking..... this is as good as its ever going to get, miserable, anxious, fearfull, and hanging out until its time for your next pill..... wouldnt it just be easier to end it all.....
I wouldnt do it - I couldnt leave that guilt trip for my family and friends, but it isnt nice to have those thoughts.

Yeah. I dislike those thoughts too. I've been o.k. lately with only a few dips. GAD seems difficult to deal with. Anxiety is very painful, IMO. With depression it can get pretty grim, in my experience. Sorry you are having such a go of it recently. Can you identify any triggers? (I'm not asking you to tell me, just wondering if you could. I can for myself, but I don't have GAD, but jeez, at a certain point, my anxiety can get such that everything gets stuck to it. Then it is or seems like GAD, and I have difficulty seeing triggers. But I have ADD, too. You do, too, yes? ADD can create anxiety.)

I'm sorry, Phillipa, but I don't think I could explain it very well because my understanding of how is superficial at best. (Plus it's late here.)
The condition itself can cause anxiety, though this often gets overlooked in treatment.

I dont seem to have any triggers, atleast not at the moment, it seems to be totaly free floating, and the doctors have concluded that it is endrogenous/biochemical.
I wish there were triggers, because then I could do somthing about it!

No, no ADD here, thats one thing I missed out on!
Generalised anxiety, panic disorder and depression..... the unholy trinity!

I never had testing to see if I had the deficient gene. It does seems to be helping, although you never know with this stuff, it could be pure coincidence that I started feeling better. If depression symptoms return, I'll be trying the 15mg dose. herpills

Herpills that makes two posters now that Deplin worked for. Another poster had a great experience with Deplin at 7.5 mg also. I can't recall the name? Glad things are well. Phillipa

Jono, Sorry about misremembering the ADD. I'm glad you do not deal with that on top of your 'trinity'.

Well, I'm back, FWIW. I'm doing better overall, but it's a long road ahead to get a life back.
Thank you for your warm sentiments.
