There are lots of abstracts, but I think my psychiatrist could have based my treatment on this study. I am on the same dose of the same brand of Testosterone as the treatment-refractory men in this study.
There is some concern (legitimate) that one's... organs will produce less or no exogenous T once one has been on exogenous testosterone for awhile, probably dose-dependent. (Unfortunately the forums I've found with lots of AndroGel talk are bodybuilding ones.)
And you know what? I don't care. If my own body doesn't make enough and shuts off production due to receiving it externally I will just take it topically (or by depot injection, whatever works best long term) for the rest of my life.
Just like if my depression is recurrent because of errant biology, I may need to put chemicals in it the rest of my life. I know I've been this way since age 18, because I tested "low normal" for testosterone then.
I understand not wanting to give testosterone to an 18 year old male, but I'm 29 now and I've tried so many drugs that other causes were warranted. I am amazed at the psychiatrist I have; I am tempted to say more about him except I don't think it's right to reveal who he is publically. I am truly lucky. :)

Not a male but it would be like diabetes replace the insulin or thyroid disease replace the thyroid hormone. Right? Phillipa

I got my father to get on Testostrone, sometimes T sup can take the crabby pain in the assness out of older men.
