My blood and urine tests confirmed Pyroluria 5 years ago by which time anxiety/depression were controlled on Alprazolam .5mg twice/day.
I began P5P 33.8mg, & Zinc and had disturbing dreams but never progressed to sweet dreams as Dr. anticipated.5 yrs later, trying the P5P 33.8mg again with Zinc Picolinate 50mg, Magnesium 250mg with same result after 2 weeks.
Also take 100mcg Thyroxine/day, Vit C 500-1000mg, E 400 IU DIM bioavailable 19.5 and sublingual compounded Troche's DHEA, Progesterone, Oestrogen and Testosterone.
Can you suggest any further possibilities - dosage changes alternate B6, Zinc etc that might make the treatment effective? I did read on one site that some people need both P5P and Piroxidine Hydrochloride 300mg daily and that others do better on one or the other forms.
I am 46kg, 5ft tall, eat a protein based diet with only nutrient dense fruit & veg in small quantities. I also weight train and have 22% body fat.
Long family history of anxiety depression, many worse than me. Any words for me or should I just stay with the Xanax alone.
Thank you in anticipation

Usually called a blood disorder since it involves hemoglobin production. This is a good site:
