This is day three at 25mg. There's no real effect yet, is there?
Feel very anxious, but cranky. Was o.k. earlier today with more energy than usual. Which could just be I am cranky and anxious.
But just a thought.

FB I recently remembered one incident when on the lamictal I took a plastic bottle threw at side of store was angry and mad? Sorry forgot about this. Love Phillipa

Hey fb! I'm also hoping that some of my current issues are related to lowering my Lamictal (and maybe now to increasing it back). I was on 400mg and went down to 200mg. I'm on about 350mg (I went down for some ect).
But I'm not sure how different I feel from before, it's easy to forget even the next day. I think I feel more "crazy". And it does seem like my trichotillomania is worse- which is probably related to the anxiety spectrum.
I do know that when I first was going on Lamictal, I definitely had increased agitation. And the agitation did eventually go away.

Alchemy, really? This afternoon, boom. I thought, geez, I can't stand it. I'm nuts beyond repair. I'm taking benzos like jellybeans for sleep, and now this?
Then I remembered someone, somewhere posting about their lamictal start up and needing benzos to get through it? I had no idea.
I hope it's transitory crankitude :-/
(Why would starting up create anxiety? I don't need more anxiety. Mood brightening, yahoo. Anxiety? Nope. Btw, I don't expect you to answer that question :-/ )
Are you still feeling the 'crazies' as you put it? I wish you the best....

ya, why would something make something worse before better? it doesn't make sense.
before lamictal I had issues with agitation, so in the end it really did help. I really hope it helps you!

anxiety is pretty common while titrating up on lamictal. Having irritability (mixed?) is probably normal too =(
If you start getting really irritable and smashing stuff, see doc asap!
unfortunately you probably need to hit 150 or 200mg to get relatively stable on it.

I definitely experienced a bit of irritability when starting lamictal. The good news is that it did get better, and I was eventually less irritable than I had been before the med.
my experience anyway....
yours might be different

Oh cr*p, SG, it's moot now. I have a rash. Started two days ago. Worse today. Looks just like what the doctor said. My DBSA group all inhaled deeply and told me to stop the lamictal.
(Seems 3/4 of the room is or was on it. Popular medication.)
Shoot. I wanted this to work.

FB make sure you do as not all rashes are the SJS. Could be benign? Let me know. Love Phillipa

Thanks pj & SG, but pdoc is on a well deserved vacation, and I see him next week. I really don't get rashes, and this one is really like he desrcibed.
Will discuss when he gets back. I have heard people staring at 12.5mg or taking an antihistamine, but he was very clear and even wrote it all down.
I've watched it quietly for a few days.
Who knows? Doc said something about starting and stopping or otherwise being inconsistent in dose could increase risk of rash?
This whole rash thing.....
Maybe, oh, pooh. Maybe it'll be for the best. If I had to be alert to rashes for entire treatment?
But darn, some have been on for years w/ good results.....
