Deplin generic?

Posted by herpills on August 22, 2011, at 11:59:47

Is Deplin available as a generic now? I had a script filled and when I checked the pills they did not match what was supposed to be Deplin. I took it back and got a refund. Noticed label said methylfolate clacium? I didn't think it came in a generic? I called three different pharmacists, 2 of them said there is no generic, 1 of them said yes.

Any info on this topic would be greatly appreciated! herpills

If you google Deplin generic that should work. But I'm pretty sure the patent isn't close to being up yet. Phillipa

Hi, I work with Deplin. If the product was Duleek, that is not a generic for Deplin. As far as I know, there is not a generic but I have inquired to see if our manufacturer is producing a generic form of l-methylfolate.

Contact Tesche Bennette at Pamlabs. (985) 893-4097 and let her know what is going on. This isn't the first time I've heard of this happening and was told that there is no generic. Another person on another site posted that they didn't get the methyl form when given a generic deplin and was given the cyano form. And this is not good especially if you are on this for an MTHFR gene mutation. Cyanocobalamins are ineffective for many with MTHFR and this in my opinion can cause serious problems.
