Bromazepam vs. Clonazepam

Posted by Ben on August 26, 2011, at 14:10:43

Hi

I take 0.5 - 1.0 mg Clonazepam per day for social anxiety. It works but I`m always so tired. Tried other Benzos like Xanax etc. too but not Bromazepam. I read that Bromazepam should make less sedation? Has it the same effect on social anxiety?
I take also Parnate and I have a blood pressure of 100/65 mmhg perhaps this is another reason why I`m so tired?!
What do you think?

Bromazepam is said to produce less sedation that some benzos (mainly by the manufacturers) but if you've been taking your clonazepam for a while, you should be used to its sedative effect by now.

You might also look at chlorazepate, you take a single dose at bedtime, when it will help you sleep, and it should produce a tranquilising effect (without drowsiness) throughout all of the following day

I never took clonazepam so I can't say.

From what I hear bromazepam would have to be better.

I thought it was OK. Better than Valium.
