I have lost 110 lbs off meds,..now getting back on...scared to death of weight gain. What are you taking and have you gained a bunch of weight? I currently on Lamotrigine 200 and just went up to 20mg Lexapro.

I only gain during med withdrawals. (or when off meds and go through carb cravings) I'm on nardil now and have lost quite a bit. I was on zoloft and lithium last year and also lost quite a bit.

Sadly I think it's the 1/2 gallon of Blue Bell ice cream that I've been eating every day that's going to end up making me fat. Along with the other bad things I eat. And I don't exercise.

It might be worth asking if you can change the lamotrigine to Topomax, as this has the side effect of producing weight loss - it shuld help prevent you gaining back the weight you have lost.
Just a thought, it cant hurt to ask

Abilify has made me tubby in record time. Every time I go back on it, I gain 15lbs. This time I had to go to 30 milligrams daily. I'm fat and not particularly happy right now.

That stuff is like catnip to me (normally I would have said crack, but it seems in poor taste to make a drug-addiction joke on a psychology help board). I especially tend to go towards eating high carb foods (sweets) when I'm down. School started this week, I lost a potential job opportunity, and my pdoc has let me down by not returning my calls requesting a refill on my meds. So, I guess I tend to self-medicate on ice cream. It's really not good for someone who is borderline diabetic.

what's with people not getting refills on time? i call my pharmacy's automated system and have meds the same day or next.
why do people call the doc direct..that's the pharmacy's job.
just curious.

Hi Phil,
I was wondering the exact same thing. I have mine online on auto-refill. When 0 refills, pharmacy faxes dr's office automatically and someone will normally write at least three more months. The only time he/clinic won't refill is if I have not come in for a f/u appt. in a looong time.

I do also based on amount of refills prescribed up to a year on a lot unless controlled meds. Phillipa
