Hello all,
I started taking prozac about a month ago , i began with 20mg but went up to 40mg. The thing is that all this time i was drinking alcohol moderate to heavy. I was depressed all the month and anxious.
On Wednesday i quit alcohol and i am not going to drink ever again.
Do you think that all this month Prozac couldn't take action? Is it like starting from the beginning when i quit alcohol?

P.S. : i am also taking 25mg of amitriptyline for sleeping aid

How much were you drinking? A Lot that you could experience dt's? Or social? Phillipa

Not social. I didn't have any dt's but i was drinking let's say 2 bottles of 750ml wine per day! :S

750ml bottles... Well, i was binge drinking all the time. I don't know if that affects Prozac. My doc told me that the pills don't do anything with alcohol, i'm not sure though...

Me either they said when first ad l0mg of paxil and was drinking 4-5 beers a night and .25 xanax at bed meaning the pdoc it was okay. Other pdocs didn't agree though. Phillipa
