60mg felt the same to me as 40mg of Geodon. I was manic on 40mg of Geodon and went on a shopping spree that I need to correct this week :(
Now I will take 60mg at night and 20mg during the day bringing my grand total to 80mg. I hope this is a start. Moods were unstable before Geodon, but I wasn't manic. Odd that Geodon has pushed me into mania. No need to take Adderall.
No depression, but out of control! I wonder if I should be taking it at all?!Wonder too if spreading my Klonopin out during the day/evening would help or if I should still consider low dose Lithium (hate the acne, weight gain and hair loss with Lithium). But I worry that Geodon is no picnic to my body either.
My choices are limited at this point.
I can do Geodon - once I get past the Geodon-induced mania and take Klonopin with it.
Will I ever get to a point on Geodon that I am not hypomanic or manic?

Doesn't sound like a good idea to continue the geodon if manic on it. Hope another weighs in. Phillipa

Yes, I know. I am worried about that. I can low dose Lithium and see how that goes. I get an antidepressant feel on low dose lithium and I don't get manic on it.
I man need to try that if I totally fail Geodon. I just can't go very high on Lithium without experiencing side effects.
But I also have Klonopin.

Thank you so much for the post. As you said, the same thing has happened to me. The doc just kept going up on the dose even though I told then was feeling manic. They just said that at low doses this happens, but at even 80 mg it was still happening.
Not only was I manic, but I was becoming more irritable and unreasonable.
I have had to stop the Geodon and the Adderall and take only low dose Lithium and Klonopin for now.
I loved being high for the past month on Geodon, but I hate the debt I have racked up. Just not worth it. Plus, it's very expensive.

if a lose dose helps mood, instead of changing lotso fo things by increasing it, add a low dose of a drug that is selective for d2/d3 receptors (which is the antimanic thing, afaik) to the dose that helps depression. if there are no p450 interactions, haldol (ha, have i ever recced fucking haldol before?).

So, you're saying stick with a low dose of Geodon for the depression and mood and use a low dose of something else so I don't get too high?
What other med besides Haldol?

>Well, if something has worked for you, go with that. generally some kind of antimanic drug, like a valproate or lithium or (though i'm not sure less than 800mg is more useful against mania than the small benefit ~20mg gets you) or another old neuroleptic. could use abilify too i guess.
