Trimipramine + SSRI

Posted by tensor on July 3, 2011, at 7:06:20

Would it be safe to combine trimipramine (Surmontil) with an SSRI like Lexapro or Zoloft? From what I can read on the internet, trimipramine doesn't seem to block SERT much. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Mattias

Also, which ssri would be preferable interaction-wise, escitalopram?

you could use sertraline, citralopam or escitralopam quite safely.

I dont think there would be any danger of seretonin syndrome at all, the main side effect would be drowsiness, so take the trimipramine at bedtime
