Just got my rx filled from a pharmacy today and was wondering who is going to try it? I know its probably not the strongest one out there, but could be a good option for those who have moderate symptoms, especially with co-existing anxiety. I'm really hoping the sexual side effects and weight gain issues are less than the older SSRIs. May have to augment it if not strong enough, but well see.

I may be wrong, but I'm sure this was avaliable in England in the 1970's - I think ICI discovered and marketed it as a safer alternative to the tricyclics

I suspect you're thinking of viloxazine, not vilazodone.

Ooh how interesting! According to the prestigious (*cough*) wikipedia: "According to an eight-week, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, vilazodone was reported to elicit an antidepressant response after one week of treatment."
(!) Do let us know if that's true for you, and how you do. :-)

My post was to Jono, sorry. I know you were talking about vilazodone.
This is the end of the thread.
