Zoloft has caused a lack of libido for me and i am at 200mg. My doc says it works well at 100mg so i am going to attempt to taper down to 100mg. I would like to go super slowly so would it be ok to take 200mg for two days and then 150mg for one day and repeat until i can go 200mg for one day and 150mg the next? I have heard horror stories about going down on Zoloft so i am terrified to do so but need to. Thanks for your thoughts,
Joseph

Maybe a few days at each lower dose see if any side effects? I see how it goes at first and take it from there. Good luck. Phillipa

Get a script for a few 50mg pills and a tablet cutter, and go 200-175-150-125-100, taking each dose for say 3 days, so that you reduce from 200 to 100 over 9 days total, this should minimise any side effects.

Thanks both for your help. I hear horror stories about coming down on zoloft so I am holding on for dear life! :)

Try and remember that the horror stories are only a small segment of users - you never hear about the people who stopped it with no problems, because they arnt ahunting boards like this one
Most people can easily taper Zoloft over 1 week without any problems at all - and its quite likely that you'll be one of those

I remember back in college going down on zoloft Phillipa and there were brain zaps a plenty! :) It is too expensive to get a script for 50mg tablets to make a clean 175mg. Do you think if I take 200mg one night and 150mg the next would that equate as 175mg as I don't know anything about the half life of zoloft so perhaps that wouldn't work.

Thanks Phillipa I have a pill splitter so I shall just cut a quarter off a 100mg pill and do it that way. Thanks for your help.
