ad for me?

Posted by floatingbridge on June 14, 2011, at 14:29:42

When I called my pdoc to tell him how last night went so poorly, I realized I misunderstood his directions. He meant half of 3mg lunesta at night, not combined with ativan.

Then He said something that scared me. That if
the insomnia doesn't resolve, we'll have to stop emsam.

I wanted to remain casual on the phone. That's my m.o. Much quieter and slower outside than in.

I now realize That I am a little panicky. No, I haven't reached for the ativan. I did call him back and explained what I Did here and ask him for clarification and if he means no more depressment treatment. Maybe it's up to the Fibromyalgia folks at Stanford. At any rate, I asked for some clarification.

Should I just forget insomnia as an issue and try bear it?

There is no substitute for his own words. Hopefully, I will understand them.

I can see his point. Though Parnate and Nardil may be no better in this respect and is it this that makes you feel you are running out of options?

You tried and discontinued taking the patch off at nights? Or whatever you can do to take advantage of the AD effect with minimal insomnia?

My sleep is a bit like yours is now, and I take agomelatine. That's interesting.

There is some AD effect from Emsam for you?

How do you find it, insomnia aside?

So if insomnia doesn't magically resolve, them emsam is not the med for me

How far is my pdoc willing to look for resolution.

In the advent that emsam is withdrawn, I'd like to know what possible plan B's might look like.

I would like to know there is a plan b.

maybe something mood elevating that's not an AD? Could you add in some tramadol? Does that help you at all?

For the insomnia, try 25mg doxylamine succinate (Unisom Sleeptab) or 50mg diphenhydramine hydrochloride (Unisom Sleepgels, Sominxe, Nytol)
along with 1 Ativan and 1 Lunextra.

A prescription that would be well wroth trying would be either doxepin 25-50mg an hour before bedtime.

Oh, if you have fibromyalgia, amitriptyline could help the FM as well as act as a hypnotic at bedtime, say 50mg 1 hour before you want to go to sleep?
