Yes, I am flipping out. I shouted at my husband that the he's f*ckin' cracked if he thinks I'm going on vacation with him.
I kissed my pride goodbye and called my pdoc to f*ckin ask for benzos. I have five half Milligram pills until Wed aftrenoon. So make that Thursday. No Valium until tomorrow. Another stupid scrip bungle. I have to dig into the back of my closet
and hopefully find some expired hateful klonopin.I am spitting mad right now and feel trapped. What is wrong with me? Am I
flipping manic too?Great. Just F*ck*ng great. I suppose the emsam will go bye -bye, and I can get back to work on my glass menagerie.
I can find nothing to support maoi
usage and fibromyalgia. I am still poking along for waitning for some fibro doc who will magically prescibe med I can tolerate.Boy do I ever need some good dbt.
Sh*t.
[End (I hope) of semi-annual rant.]

fb:
Go easy on yourself, you're suffering. That's why we're all here, to support each other and share information. Living with a psychiatric condition (MDD or a variant am I right?) plus a chronic pain condition (fibro) must be unimaginably hard.
If you need to vent, I'm glad you have somewhere to do it. I've found better support here than in any face to face group I've attended....

FB like you said one good day then a bad day. Okay today is a bad day for sure. I know the searches list cymbalta and lyrica as fibro meds. But are you sure it's fibro? Could the pain be from something else? I know the feeling bad day also as told hormones are not good. Love Phillipa

Well, I found right after this hair-tearing outburst that I had become hyper thyroid. .05 tsh. Too low for me. Plus my Free t3 is 180. The uppermost normal range is about 135. It's the armour thyroid. I can't tolerate t3. Why? Who knows.
I wrote to Dr Gillman as did the poster below. He gave me some advice and a big fat article to read.
My pdoc will be pleased about the tsh. Not about the advice of Dr. Gillman
He said there was merit in a parnate trial given my extreme fatigue and based on the partial response to emsamIt never seems to end
So no thyroid for three days. God bless my family.
And my benzos
:-/

Yeah. Too bad my benzos are just about gone. And the horsemen of abstinence are riding.
I still feel so pissed about my life. This life. I need to pray fot myself and find a real therapist
I don't know what's happened to me.

I hope you find a remission window soon.

floatingbridge,
I pop in and out of here... no predictable rhythm :-)
Sometimes I feel like some posters here are the only people who can truly relate to how I feel. God only knows how much group "therapy" I've had over the years (probably because it's cheap!) and, regardless of setting, I felt little or no connection to the rest of the group. (Do I need to go into detail?)
But here I know, no matter what I post, odds are someone will probably read what I have to say and be able to understand and empathize. That, I suppose, is the power of the Internet.
So rant all you want, and give yourself permission to do it. We're here pulling for you as much as we are for ourselves =)

Z, I think I do remember you a little. You have done well in the past on Parnate.
Are you still starting from scratch?
Parnate has been recommended to me. But I'll give the emsam a fair go. Just knowing that my Tsh is so low was knowledge enough to calm me down. Very silly, but it means I'm not manic or raving. Those are soothing thoughts.
What brings you in for a landing? Do you have a thread up? I'll go see. Thanks for the hand hold.

Parnate and I have had a weird, twisted relationship...
I just can't seem to find a dose of the stuff that doesn't put me in (hypo)mania dangerzone. I had success on it, and outwardly things looked fine, but I didn't want to sleep, was going through money too quickly, and in order to respond at all anymore I was having to take 130mg a day, which was actually scripted to me. I became a social animal on this drug, could talk to anyone about anything and became the cool new neighbor, started going to bars a lot, etc, but alas, it wasn't to last. I went through money *way* too quickly and more than once found myself spending most of my energy on hedonistic pursuits that didn't bring me closer to the harmonious life I'm seeking.
I finally decided that, regrettably, I was done with Parnate when it began to impact my relationships with my family, that they perceived my behavior as out of character. They were right, but going without an AD isn't an option for me either. That's why I'm headed the Nardil route - when that stuff put me in an extended remission, I was never over the top. Just felt as close to normal as I ever have since my first depression. Just hoping it will work this time.
**NOTE** my experience with Parnate (at least as far as I know) is HIGHLY unusual. Most people respond to much lower doses and it's not *particularly* known (AFAIK) for pushing people into (hypo)mania. At least, no more so than any other antidepressant.
I usually come back here when things are Really Good or Really Bad. Right now it's the latter unfortunately.
I really feel for Matt right now, it sounds like he's in an awful spot.
Weird. I am having insomnia (PST over here, I'm usually well asleep by now) but the only thing I have is Klonopin, which gives me a terrible hangover. Wondering if I could split my 2mg pills into 1/4s or 1/8ths?

I'm PST, too, and about to swallow my dreadful klonopin. All I have until tomorrow.
I hope the nardil works again.
I'm avoiding a pain pill and shutting out the lights. Hopefully tomorrow will be a good day for both of us. Phillipa, you too!

According to my doc I probably would have been labelled a combination of depression, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue by most doctors. Actually they all kind of go together without distinct boundary lines. FM is a common misdiagnosis of Lyme disease or one of several Lyme coinfections or complications. It could be intracellula rmycoplasma. These kinds of things are much more common I believe than people know. That's because there are a handful of MDs around the nation that improve or cure FM patients with antibiotics. My Lyme doctor actually had been a pain specialist and stumbled onto becoming a good detective of Lyme or Lyme=like situations because he casually noticed over time that patients who took antibiotics for other non-related issues showed improvement in their overall condition and with long term treatment got nearly completely well. Not with everyone but enough to take notice.
Anyway, we may never know. Whatever the actual cause, FM is I think is basically an inflammation state caused by a confused or disregulated immune system. So what can help a lot is to address those issues. I use several specific herbs with those mechanisms and certain food choices. Some common foods are proinflammatory while others are antiinflammatory or neutral.
While ABX might be a potentially life changing strategy for the better, probably the single thing I've seen that helps the most with a lot of people is LDN.

BB, What's ABX?
I'M slowly giving up on meds. Nothing radical, Just over time. I had a good day Friday. That's about maybe half my old capacity maybe less. Followed by three crummy day's wanting to do things, but mostly feeling pretty down. Skipping family supper to lie down. Gets old.
Oh well. I'm sorry to hear that about you. Once I thought an maoi would help. Now I think I'm Just ill. I'll need something for depression, but that's about it.
You're still trying. That's great:)

FB seriously speaking for BB he is now pretty Well. ABX =antibiotics. Sometimes doxycycline workds well with lymes, other times a combo of antiobiotics for very long periods of time needed. I got rocephin through a pic line first then biaxin xl for two years three months on and three months off and must admit felt pretty good. As for the herbs no knowledge. But some do say fibro related to lyme's. Hope today was better for you. Phillipa

ABX is short for antibiotics.
