I've been taking Zoloft for over 10 years but I find it increases my heart rate and makes me more anxious. It makes my relationships difficult especially with co-workers.

He has said it is my thinking. But I researched yesterday and one of the side effects is rapid heart palpitations. Does anyone know of something I could add to calm the heart down?

You could ask about adding a beta blocker to it. That would slow the heart rate a bit but it may make you depressed again. Thats one risk.
Maybe you have some hyperarousal going on thats not just from zoloft? Any anxiety, increased startle response?
Zoloft is prescribed for some anxiety spectrum illnesses, but I never found that it did much for my anxiety at all. Celexa was just a little better in that regard.
What it does for me is act like a pain killer on my depression. The symptoms are there but I can function somewhat better. It doesnt make me mixed like other SSRIs which is amazing given its reputation for causing dysphoric, mixed states.

I have had control for years until this relap, that's why I started zoloft, every day seems worse. Some have said stick it out it will pass. I'm not sure but will try to stick it out and see if this reverses. I'd like to here from people who stuck it out, or anything on the subgect

If you have been taking it for 10yrs, i don't see why you would attribute these changes to said drug

Tough call. usually the drill is to stick it out for 4-6 weeks and see. I had some good effects at 50mg, but the bst results at 100. I tried 150 but I got twitchy and backed off to 100 where the depression returned. So Im at 125 for now.
There are other meds out there. If youre anxious on zoloft maybe you could try something like lexapro? It has less of a reputation for anxiety and mixed stuff than zoloft, thats for sure.

One would not want to misinterpret this brief period of anxiety as a long-term side effect and therefore discontinue Lexapro because of this.
