Well, after more than three months on Zyprexa (and almost 2 stones heavier) I am going to ask my p/doc if I can come off Zyprexa. It's been generally ineffective for my panic disorder and anxiety, although it has helped my depression a little. Does anyone know if the dose has to be tapered in order to withdraw from Zyprexa? If so, how many days does it need to be tapered for??
Thanks

Tapering off should be done carefully. My favored strategy is to reduce the dose in very tiny steps over a period of time. For me that was about a 3 month process. If the dose is reduced too fast or in large chunks, it can potentially feel aweful or bizarre. I went too fast a couple times and had to slow down. All you need is pill splitter and a single edged razor blade so you can make custom doses, slice slivers off, get tiny chunks, etc. When I say reduce dose in very tiny steps, I mean about .1mg to .3mg (1/10th to 1/3rd of a milligram).
