Emsam augmentation

Posted by Stevenn on March 17, 2011, at 12:48:16

This is my first post so maybe I should give some background first. I have had treatment resistant depression,(never thought depression was a good term for a physical illness), for ten yrs. Have tried more anti's than I can remember, ECT, TMS, and even tried to get funds for the implant. Now I am thinking of the ketamine trial. But and a big BUT, I would like to try other meds to enhance the only meds that my psychiatrist and I have found to work- Which is Emsam 12mg, lamictal, deplin, fish oil, klonopin(which doesn't work any more), lunesta and Seroquel 200mg for sleep,(which is hard to come by). This is the extreme short version of the story. Emsam is really the only thing that has worked but its not enough. My doctor and I hit a wall. Any add ons? Please don't tell me something to try in place of my meds. only augments. And only positive feed back don't say what meds. You don't like.. I am not sure of this site yet so make me a believer. Also if you need advice let me know I've been there like many of you.-Sorry about my grammer I am a school teacher and can't punctuate for anything. AIso I'm busy for a while, so I can read your stuff but can't respond until later. I hope this post does not sound negative. This is a touchy issue as you know. Thank You So Much!

Well I can welcome you to babble. I think it's great that despite depression you continue to teach a tough job. Could you switch to another long acting benzo like valium in place of the klonopin? Just a thought. Phillipa
