i have been taking effexor for 2 weeks at the dose of 75mg, i want to mix nardil with it.
should i go with 90mg nardi and low dose of effexor or and low dose of nardil 75mg effexor?
what mix would work better to produce results of mild euphoria/antidepressant effect?
i know for my body that 200-400mg of tramadol + 90mg of nardil=hypomania
effexor works like tramadol right....so in theory what should i do??
ps im experienced so please dont comment to tell me this is a risk of serotonin s., i know that already
thanks for your postings everybody=] keep them rolling=0

In reply to NARDIL + effexor=ecstasy, how should i do this?, posted by fellowmike on March 3, 2011, at 2:57:41
You should probably study up on "serotonin syndrome". Mixing effexor and nardil is a rather significant no no. If you are brave enough to take the risk, you should at least be familiar with how the symptoms start and how they progress, so you can identify it early and get emergency treatment. We're not just talking dangerous here, we're talking death.
psychotropical.com has excellent info on serotonin syndrome
I know you said you were experienced and didn't want to hear about serotonin. Serotonin syndrome is unpredictable and can creep up suddenly after weeks, or can hit immediately. Experience has nothing to do with it. One can take a dangerous combo at some point in time and do fine with it, yet at another time do horrible.
Tramadol and Effexor might have some similarities but are by no means comparable. That is clearly obvious at websites where patients rate their meds.
If you are interersted in the opioid angle, something that is safe with nardil, you could maybe study up on LDN.
It would have been irresponsible to not mention it. For those who don't know about it, this is a good topic and location to educate.

Not really. Effexor is not an opioid, and is more serotonergic than tramadol.
Unless you want to end up in ICU, I would avoid this combination. 'Experience' will not protect you, it's more a case of whether you are lucky or unlucky. People have died from this type of combination.
This is the end of the thread.
