I was having trouble getting to sleep last night (stupid prednisone) and I got to thinking about something Christ_empowered said, about the use of other drugs besides SSRI's. So I'm kind of curious about the use of stimulants.
Has anyone given this a try? By itself or in combination with another medication?

Seems to depend on the situation and the doctor. Just from what I've experienced and what I've seen my friends go through, stimulants are usually added when the primary med(s) just isn't cutting it. So, if your antidepressant leaves you feeling flat and you're unmotivated and can't focus...you might get "dopaminergic augmentation." I think the days of giving depressed patients dexedrine right off the bat are largely over.
This is the end of the thread.
