With depression, people usually experience it worse in the morning. I have had a period of that being the case but it has been quite a while ago.
Lately mine has started a pattern of starting around 10/11:00. Any experience or ideas?
Along with the depression is the unstable/waves feeling, like I'm in the middle of a teeter totter. That also gets worse at that time.
This has feeling has recently become pretty common.
I have been slowly transitioning from Celexa to Pristiq. I am hoping that may be the reason.

Alchemy,
That's very interesting. I don't know what to make of your observation. Until someone has a better answer, I'd look at all daily activities for change. Sounds like you have. Meal time/content (do you need a different breakfast? More protein? ), sleep/wake times, meds & timing, change of habit or activity.
Are you interested in Chinese medicine? They have a biological clock theory that assigns hours to specific organs or
systems. A skillful practitioner can be useful. A novice could turn it into an unhelpful *cookbook* gloss. How long until your mood improves? How do you cope with your dip?
I can experience a real dip around 10-11
myself which I experience as fatigue w/ mood change on its heels. When I can, I might lie down for half an hour or so. I don't sleep, just rest, maybe read and stay quiet. (Not always convenient.)

If anxiety, is not a major probem, I'd recomend having some medium -> strong coffee at this time.

I don't know. For me, my depression is the worst at around 4 or 5 in the afternoon. I tried coffee at around 3:30pm this past Monday. And I got a terrible reminder of the reasons why I don't have caffeine after noon, ever. I had a horrible plunge into deep depression by 6 pm. Then I had insomnia that night.

Hi Alchemy,
I can relate to this. From when I wake up to about 11:00 life is fine and dandy. Then I get a big mood drop and anxiety kicks in.

Feeling horrible in the morning is typical of clinical depression. This usually has to do with CORTISOL levels. When your depression starts to remit, your mornings should get better...
Warmly, John
