he said he prescribed something, and the other normal doctor prescribed something that prolonged the QTc interval that ended up in cardiac arrest.
i was talking about him about sertindole safety
now i am freaked out, i will wait for asenapine :(

Jeroen I'm not sure what you mean. Are you talking of two docs one prescribed a med that prolonged QT and the other doc was telling you of it? Could you explain. Phillipa

yes, my old psychiatrist in other hospital told me story that happened recently to someone:
He took a psych med and an anti biotic both prolonged the QTc interval too much and he had heart arrest :(
but he recovered he was revived by ambulance quickly.
but you see the dangers of Geodon, Sertindole,
an older anti psychotics who does this.
Zyprexa, Seroquel, Solian, Sulpiride, Risperidone
they all have small QTc prolognation not too worry about too much QTc the shrink said...i think i just stay sick and bad functioning, i'm screwed like most people here, 10% get actually relief of their illness.

i got relief from Seroquel for 2 months until i came resistant to it,
now 5 years later nothing happens, so
my hopes are gone, the only thing is asenapine but it isnt here and maybe its also dangerous to take

Hi Jeroen why would your doc tell you about that reaction to a med when he surely knows you are afraid of them and the side effects? Phillipa

Maybe you can try the Seroquel again and it will work? That happens sometimes.

Jeroen, those are tough choices. Sorry you need to make them.
I'm with Maxime. Seroquel could help again.
And yeah, many of us don't fully recover. But that doesn't mean you're out of the game.
Peace.

I realize that my post to you was a bit of a whitewash. But really, what can you or the rest of us with mental illness do? We have to invent some way we can participate. That's how I see it. You are being supremely challenged right now, and you're hanging in there. It might not be pretty. Isolation and loneliness are so painful. I know. My heart goes out to you. Keep posting. (((Hugs)))

Your friend,
Maxie

I think Maxime's suggestion of
maintaining optimism is still helpful.

Oh. Well then I can understand why you would scared. Maybe you will need to take it with another med to make the side effects go away. I hate that, start a new med and then have to take more meds for the side effects. But if works, then that's the way to go!I forget, which meds are you on right now?

Do you think it helps to take Seroquel in combination with Abilify? It's a very unusual combination.
