Good morning everyone! Since school is starting soon for me, I need to find out the right choice of medication if i'm going to be able to socialize with friends and classmates. I am currently on Nardil 60 mg and was thinking of making the switch to Parnate because the stimulating effect that Nardil does not have. I wrote up a couple questions I had on Parnate and if you can give me some advice I would really appreciate it. I just want to get some knowledge from people whose taking Parnate and how well it helped with their social phobia.
1.Parnate is a stimulating drug, does the stimulation ever go away?2.Can you gain weight on Parnate?
3.Can Parnate help for social phobia like nardil can?
4.What side effects do I need to worry about besides the diet?
4.What pro's vs. con's would you compare and contract with Nardil to Parnate.
Any vet's or experienced people whose taking Parnate before could lend me some advice I'd really appreciate it. Thanks

Parnate is not so stimulating for me. It is in the sense that it causes insomnia and does not cause any sedation. I don't know about social phobia, because that's not a problem I suffer from. Parnate insomnia can be really bad and the drug is stimulating in the sense that you can go 72 hours without sleeping and not be tired at all, just emotionally labile due to not sleeping. YOu almost always need a sleeping pill. I use ativan and trazadone.

Is Parnate more of a mind-stimulant, than a body stimulant?
