I was taking 300 mg a day and I gained 8 pounds in one week. I wasn't eating any more than usual. A lot of that was water weight. Nevertheless, I told my pdoc that I would NOT continue to take it.

Some people are more sensitive to weight gain on lithium than others, as is the case with many medications.
I would ask your doctor about lithium and weight gain. I do think weight gain on lithium is usually dose dependent, I could be completely wrong.

Funny, I was just thinking about you and thought lithium might be a drug worth investigating for you. Oh, well...

I never gained a pound on lithium. 1500mg a day, 8 months remained constant at 135 pounds.

You are lucky. But then your weight is quite low, isn't it? I find that if people have a hard time gaining weight, then they won't gain on medication. Be grateful for your speedy metabolism.
