Is Deplin even worth trying?

Try a small dose of folic acid first eg. 400mcg per day.

No way to know. It's really hard, expensive, and sometimes impossible to pinpoint where our metabolic roadblock is. The simplest cheapest way to find out if one is suspect or not is to target it and try it.
Don't know your current meds, supplements, or history, so can't even begin to make any suggestions except that I believe there are more telling trials and better supplements than deplin. It is a good trial, but there are at least a dozen others if that doesn't pan out. Have to go through them methodically like a detective. Might get lucky on the first one, deplin. Who knows.

Didn't do anything for me. I did get a good AD effect from B-100!

Never tried deplin, but I like the fact that there's now solid data indicating that non-drug supplements can improve mood, even if you have to take them w/ standard treatments.
I agree with other posters that you might want to start off with something cheaper and more readily available than deplin. Do you take supplements? A b-100 supplement is quite cheap, but could be very helpful. I got a bottle of 300 capsules (1 cap per day) for less than $15.

I stopped taking Deplin because of diminishing returns. I would try it again, though, with a different antidepressant regime.

I received less and less benefit over time. I don't know whether or not this is a common phenomenon. It has been suggested to me that I try taking less. I don't know.
