> ceeIf the blood level is too high, you may feel numb or intoxicated. Lithium is not generally sedating at the very low doses which are sometimes used to treat depression. Full anti-manic doses can cause many more side effects.

What dose are you on?
I only take 300mg and for my depression (can't take antidepressants) and it really helps, but it doesn't make me sleepy. In fact, I take my full dose in the morning, because if I take half in the morning and half in the evening - the night time dose would keep me awake.

I take 750mg of seroquel xr and 3 times 0.5 klonopin for my hard to treat dep and anxiety.
The seroguel has helped with my dep but i still have the agitated anxiety. my pdoc wants to toss in a low dose of lithium hoping that it will help with the anxiety and left over dep. i have a hard time taking anti depressants
