What is the normal waiting period to switch from one MAOI to another MAOI? Such as, Nardil to Parnate? Is it 14 days?

What is the theory behind the need for a washout from MAOI to MAOI?

I could not have coped with their combined side effects and Nardil withdrawal during an equivalent-dose switch. Worse, "equivalent" doses aren't at least for me. One Parnate tablet affects me about as much as 3 Nardil. If I had tried to go straight from 3 Nardil to 3 Parnate...forget it.
Interestingly, according to the antidepressant comparison chart at www.rxfiles.ca, no washout is needed when switching between TCA's.

Correct, for me. That's why it's good to start low and go slow, you never know how something will affect you and no doc can tell for sure in advance.
