I understand that the brand name is no longer available in the U.S. market due to liability concerns, but there are 8 generic versions in the U.S.. Anyone on the board take this? Also how serious is the liver concerns? Is it something that as long as your monitor liver enzyme tests it is safe (if they check out), or does it spontaneously destroy your liver?

I had the same fears when a doc here prescribed it for me. I only took a week. I would think doing frequent liver enzymes would be a good idea. Still got my liver I think though? Phillipa

My psychiatrist thinks that the liver enzyme rise is a real concern, but only for a limited number of people. He definitely thinks it is a drug I should try in the future. I am currently on 75mg of Paxil for a severe anxiety disorder for the last several years. It works, but even at that high dose, I am not getting a robust relief (still prone to panic in social situations). I am seriously considering Serzone as my next option before wading into MAOI, AP, and TCA territory.
