Hi,
I'm currently on tranylcypromine(60mg)/lithium (600mg)/alprazolam (6mg). I've mostly weaned myself off the Xanax; I only take 1mg on an as-needed basis.
In any event, my psychiatrist prescribed 50mg desipramine for me today. I've heard conflicting things about the combination of Parnate/desipramine so I need some advice from someone who's taken both concurrently.
For what its worth, I've never had any adverse hypertensive or serotonergic reactions while taking Parnate.
Thanks!

Hi.
I have taken Parnate and desipramine in combination. It was safe and effective. Be prepared for an increase in your heart rate. This is to be expected and is not necessarily dangerous. I found that my heart rate decreased with continued treatment.
