Hi All:
Staying on Marplan till my next appointment 2nd week of July--that'll make it about a month on the full 60mgs.
I wonder when, in the Marplan website's prescribing information, they say if no benefit is observed by 6 weeks continued administration is unlikely to help, if they mean 6 weeks on the final dosage or 6 weeks including the titrations...
Not hopeful I'll get a significant, consistent AD gain out of it..but it would be awesome if that happened.
Did anyone have Nardil poop out at 90 and work again when retrying it later? And as well as it did the last time?
Don't know what to try next. Blegh.

They aren't at all clear on this. However, I would try to remain on 60mg for 6 weeks if you can tolerate it. If I hadn't developed painful side effects, I would have done this.

Actually, this is a strategy that has been employed by a few doctors. Discontinuing Nardil for three months can sometimes restore its usefulness. One of my doctors cycled a patient of his between Parnate and Nardil whenever each would lose effect.

How did it poop out on you? Were you taking it for depression or SP? When did you notice it pooped out, or did it really poop out and you got the beginning europhia mixed up with the actual treatment of the drug?

Gradual reduction in effect, to the point where I felt pre-treatment.
At that time, the doctor I was seeing would not go above 90mg. (I later found out, after I washed out from it and started a disastrous switch to Effexor, from another doc that I could gave gone up to 120. Go figure.)
Took it for depression, although it certainly helped with general and social anxiety!
Still will be taking Marplan through at least the second of July...

Maybe titrating Nardil down to 15/30mg over a week or two, then going back up to 60/75 could reestablish some effect. I've heard of this working, and have played with it myself. Seemed to work, though I may be mistaken. Never "poop"d out on me, but didnt give me remission at super high dosages, just more SE's.. After lowering dosage then upping again, I got remission.. could have just been a factor of time, though.
Lithium augmentation also shown to help.
Or trying Parnate.
