I have been trying Depakote as a mood stabilizer and I have been eating non-stop! I must have consumed enough food in one week as I should have in one month!
I am back to my old standard of Seroquel 50 mg. at night along with 1 mg of Klonopin. I also take 10mg of Adderall in the morning.
Now, I just need to figure out what to take during the day.

My doc put me on lamictal precisely for that reason. She also said lamictal actually helps you lose weight.

Yeah, depakote will make gain massive amounts of weight. I couldn't take it for that reason.
Have you ever tried Lamictal? How about trileptal? Trileptal is very close to the tegretol you were taking a while back but has less side effects.
Hope you find something soon.

Hey thanks for asking. I am not doing very well right now because of circumstances within my family. No pill will help it. I take Nozinan to sleep and I need to take it every night. Eventually it will stop working and I will have to go back to another med like Loxapine. So I will have to go back and forth like with the meds, but I don't have any other choice.

How do you take Adderall if you're bipolar? Do you feel like your taking a mood stabilizer during the day to balance out the overstimulating effects of Adderall?
So you are not taking Depakote anymore?
What about a low dose of Lithium?

I actually had to stop the Adderall as it was aggravating my moods.
My doc also told me to stop all caffine and anything with caffine in it.
I miss the "high" of the Adderall and the coffee, but I really need mood stabilization. So I have to drop the stimulants.

Hi, I am sure there is a way to be notified re. threads on Psych Central. I just haven't figured it out yet. But it would be helpful wouldn't it?
