I have just washed out my cymbalta for 9 days. The weight gain spiked and so did my (usually fine) blood pressure.
I've been bugging my pdoc to take me off the cymbalta and he likes to do things slowthe weight gain is exhausting me and increasing my social phobia.
I would like to go back on parnate for a while as I know I will be able to lose a little weight and work out with enthusiasm and no joint pain.i don't care if I continue the abilify (5mg and I am taking 1.5mg clonzazepam for sleeping which only sometimes works.
I'm depressed, need something for my ADHD
Te good news is the OCD is ebbing since off the Cymbalta
i'm heading to a bad place and I'm not sure why.

What do you mean by this?
What did you want to know about Parnate and Abilify?
They are compatible. I have tried the combination myself. Just know that some people gain quite a bit of weight with Abilify. It doesn't happen right away, and can be a gradual process.
I hope you don't suffer too much between treatments.

Elanor sorry to hear your're not doing well. Any reason the doc took his time as you put it stopping the cymbalta? Phillipa

My p-doc took me off abilify before I went on parnate. He had gone to a conference on MAOI's and atypical APs and was told there that the two drugs couldn't be combined.
My experience.

i was already gaining weight on the cymbalta when i started the abilify
the weight gain is a big issue on the physical and mental health sideI had a visit with my pdoc today
me in a combined state of hostile jet lag and a weepy meltdown into depression
he offered me 3 options: going back on a small dose of cymbalta, wellbutrin or effexor
i refused all 3 as being poor choicesi'm holding out for parnate
leaving on a trip at the end of the week
with abilify and clonazepam> I hope you don't suffer too much between treatments.
thanks

I know a couple of people in real life who combine Parnate and Abilify with no ill effects. Maybe you should check with your phamacist for a second opinion? Hang in there.

My pdoc, who is a resident at Columbia, seems to think the combo could be good and he's required to check in with a couple of the docs i can't afford.
i like working with a resident--he does his homework.
How are you Maxime?

> How are you Maxime? Not that great. It's not that the Parnate and Nortip. aren't working. I just have a lot of bad things happening to me right now. So it's not something a pill will fix.
Thanks for asking. :-)
