Does anyone know if Pexeva is available in Canada or how I can find out if it is?
Thanks!

Pexeva has no advantages over normal paroxetine anyway. There are plenty of generic versions of paroxetine available in Canada, as well as the brand Paxil.

Thanks so much! I have tried Paxil and had great success on it a number of years ago. I was only on it for a few years and stopped (tapered down and had no problems with withdrawal). A number of years later, I was in need of an AD again and tried Paxil but it didn't seem to work the second time around. I have heard that that is somewhat common with Paxil, although I was also dealing with severe iron deficiency at the time, so my lack of response could also have been due to that. Anyway, I thought that perhaps Pexeva was just slightly different enough to work where regular Paxil doesn't seem to. Moot point, though, since it's not available in Canada. Perhaps a third trial of Paxil . . . ??? I don't know.

Not really, it's still the same drug (paroxetine), just a different salt. Its efficacy is the same as Paxil.
You could try Paxil again, or perhaps a related drug such as sertraline (Zoloft).

Thanks. I tried Zoloft a few years ago and it made me so incredibly irritable and angry. After a few weeks of that, I had to stop. I am on Lexapro and Remeron now. I will see what my pdoc says at my next appointment this week. Thanks for the help.

Had you stopped it and started it again after a break of a few years, or was it that it worked the first time you tried it and haven't tried it since? I've tried it and it worked, but not when I tried it again after a break.
