I don't think I usually do, but I guess I'm hoping that's my excuse for feeling down (always trying to find an excuse). But on the flip side, socially drinking allows me to have a happy social time that is good for my depression. If I wasn't drinking, it wouldn't be the same. (my dr. knows I sometimes drink)

My psych is always careful to tell me to moderate my desire to reduce my drinking.

I don't think I get depression after drinking. It usualy gives me an up lifting effect. If I drink too much it often makes me a little depressed.

I find alcohol very Dysphoric, its the most dysphoric drug, for me.
If I drink more than one beer or glass of wine I have a dirty "high" for about 20 mins & then very depressed

When I've been well, either on medication or off it, I could get drunk and not feel depressed.
Now, I only have to have a couple of drinks of red wine and I'm pretty much in a stupor. The other night I just sat on the floor in my bedroom with my head bowed down. Everytime my boyfriend came into the room I just told him to go away.
Drinking makes me feel worse usually. That's why I can never quite understand how people who become alcoholics actually get to that stage.
