Right now I am on low dose Risperdal and Lexapro. Those two meds, in combination with acceptance commitment therapy, have been quite effective for social anxiety thoughts. However, adding Vitex has greatly added to the therapeutic effects. I recommend this herb to anyone who suffers from socially paranoid thoughts.

Hy Michael, so Vitex was beneficial as an add-on to Risperdal for negative symptoms? At what dose of Vitex did you noticed the improvement?I trialed Vitex years ago, and at the dose written on the bottle, it totally abolished my sexual desire.Do you think that Vitex can substitute the ripserdal, or you felt it as an add-on to the AP?
Regards!

...also Vitex increase prolactine, did you observed any signs of hyperprolactinemia?I'm on a failed course of Amisulpride which increased way too much my prolactine (i'm male, so sexual disfunction and increased breasts doesn't look too encouraging)
Thanks

Hi Sorry it took so long to get back to you, I moved so I had no internet connection for a while. Anyway, regarding whether Vitex can be taken alone rather than along with Risperdal, I don't know and I don't want to try. I have come off every other drug (klonopin, lexapro, etc.) and the only thing I am on now is Risperdal. Risperdal was so extremely effective for my feelings of anger and frustration, along with social paranoia that I am somewhat terrified to come off of it. I will say, however, that the Risperdal was not 100% effective for the socially paranoid thoughts, but the Vitex certainly added to the effect.
Also, Vitex lowers, not raises, prolactin at higher dosages.
Hope that helps.

Hi Michael, no problem for taking so long, I am interested in your combo of Risperdal and Vitex.I also suffer from some social paranoid thoughts and in the past Risperdal alone didn't helped too much.At what dosage of R.and Vitex are you on now? Also I have elevated prolactine from Anafranil and Vitex would be an good add-uon since it lowers it.
Thanks a lot!
