First thing when I get up. I've taken it at other times in the past, it doesn't seem to make a great deal of difference.

I, too, found that going 24 hours without dosing Effexor XR led to a flattening of mood and the emergence of withdrawal symptoms. I did better with twice-a-day dosing.

effexor xr:
10:00 375mg
14:30 150mg
19:00 75mgI found this "setup" after quite some experimenting, if I shift dosages from 10 to 14:30 or 19 I can't sleep.. I don't want to see a blood level-over-time graph since it's probably going up and down, but whatever..

I'm only taking 75mg but I feel a definite lift when I take it first thing in the morning. I find I wake up early sweating and I wonder if this is withdrawal.I took Effexor in the morning. I did not experience night sweating, but many people do, even at dosages that are working well for them. You and your doctor might need to do some experimenting in order to find the optimal dosage. That you experience a transient mood lift immediately after taking your morning dose might be an indicator that you are currently underdosed.

Thanks, Scott. It's weird, I mentioned it to my doctor and recently to the one covering her while she is on holiday...no response.
OK, I guess that's enough thread diversion.

ah ok, that's why I am am like blind for two minutes or so after leaving the subway station.. I didn't know venlafaxine does increase light sensitivity, though I was kind of guessin' it since it is the only med I am taking right now..
actually, in terms of side effects, this isn't that bad, or I got used to it, I don't know.. yet, the fact that this barely helps me does kind of tell me there most be more than just 5HT/NE involved in my depression.. but maybe I just know too little about psychopharmacology..
