I know I've addressed this here before. I wanted to address it again as I am considering it again and again wanted to here if anyone had experience with this and if anyone had an opinion of this.
I am now on:
40 mg generic Fluoxetine
2.5 mg Zyprexa
300 mg Lithium
500 mg DepakoteI am interested in the possible dopamine and norepinephrine boosting mechanism of St. John's Wort. I am thinking that since many have safely and successfully combined Nortriptyline with SSRIs, combining a small dose of SJW(preferrably New Chapter's SC27 since it is my understandin it is low in hypericin, which may cause phytoxicity) would not carry too much risk.
Opinions and experiences would be much appreciated.
Blueaberry, I know you already shared your experience with and opinion on this. It was a while back and I can't remember exactly what you said so if you don't mind briefly going over your thoughts on this I would appreciate it.

Just be on the watch for what might feel like blood level changes of your meds. SJW will likely affect them one way or the other. In one case report SJW increased a woman's zyprexa blood to 30mg from 10mg by simply adding SJW.
Serotonin syndrome is a risk. Didn't happen with me. My SJW dose was 900mg at its highest, but 600mg the majority of the time.
I had some good times with the prozac/zyprexa/sjw mix. For sure it felt like zyprexa had increased, with some mild movement disorders showing up.
You just gotta be in tune with your body and constantly on the watch for any problems so you can make adjustments quickly.

Well my doc wants me to get of zyprexa after a few weeks of being on lithium, so this may not be an issue. He's concerned that zyprexa has been taking the life out of me and negatively affecting speech and cognition.
I'm anxious to see how SJW affects me. I don't have the issue of feeling too flat or emotionless on SSRIs but I think that I could always feel better-hopefully SJW can help me achieve this.
Should I be concerned about SJW significantly changing blood levels of any of the other meds I'm taking?
