I've been taking the following meds for depression and anxiety:
75mg Nortriptyline (going up to 100 mg today)
100 mg Seroquel
1.25 mg Clonazepam
600 mg lithiumI had several nights of about 2-3 hours sleep which was awful for me, then I had 2 good nights (about 6 hours), a poor night, followed by last night which was good. I feel like I'm not getting and REM sleep and as far as I can figure out the Clonazepam is the most likely culprit.
Tricyclics and Lithium reduce rem sleep as well, but I think it is the Clonazepam that is causing the most problems.
Can I just do a substitution of temazepam for the clonazepam or do I just need to be patient and taper the clonazepam. According to the Ashton schedule 1mg of clonazepam is 20mg of valium and 30mg of restoril is 15mg of valium. I would have to take like 60mg of restoril.
I don't know what to do here, I want to get off this stuff as quickly as possible because I think it is affecting me cognitively.
Another option is just to taper the clonazepam. According to the manufacturer that can be done 0.125mg bid every 3 days. Since I only take it once a day maybe I can do it every 2 days and just reduce by 0.125mg
I have been on clonazepam since the beginning of February intially at lower dosages in the range of 0.25mg and lately sleep has been more of an issue so I've taken more.
I figure I can start tapering and if I have a rough night then I can take some restoril, but I am uncomfortable doing this without knowing how safe it is?
Any opinions appreciated

Restoril is specifially for sleep comes 15 & 30mg. But Konopin is rather strong as least to me? I would think you'd sleep on that. Sounds like some tolerance? Phillipa ps will goggle temazepam
